About the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is Canada's largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding shelters and violence prevention programs. Since its inception, the Foundation has distributed millions of dollars to shelters serving women, children, and families fleeing domestic violence.
Our Mission
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation provides emergency funding and long-term support to shelters and violence prevention organizations across Canada. By partnering with Royal LePage agents and brokers nationwide, the Foundation amplifies the impact of real estate professionals in their communities.

What Do Shelters Do?
Shelters provide immediate safety, emergency accommodation, support, and resources for women and children fleeing domestic violence. They offer:
- Safe, secure emergency accommodation
- 24/7 crisis counseling and emotional support
- Safety planning and legal advocacy
- Support for children traumatized by violence
- Job training and financial literacy programs
- Connections to housing, healthcare, and social services
- Group programs addressing trauma and rebuilding
The Reality of Domestic Violence in Canada
Domestic violence remains one of Canada's most serious social issues:
- One in four Canadian women experience severe intimate partner violence
- Every 6 days, a woman in Canada is killed by an intimate partner
- Nearly 3 in 10 Canadian women experience spousal violence in their lifetime
